"Mech from the Dead"

Films: Castle of Evil (1966)

Alias: Karl Kovac

Type: Man-Made

Location: Haunted Home

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: How does one go about protecting his fortune from another's grubby hands? How about building a robotic version of your rotting cadaver so that they get scared away! It's genius, I tell you!

History: Karl Kovac was already a man off his rocker with science, but he was also rather rich. A compatriot of his knew this, and had the mad scientist murdered. But not before Kovac made a robotic duplicate of himself to prevent anyone from getting his fortune, despite being included in the will. And that's what that robot did when some guys came for their inheritance.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After killing most of the folks, the robot gets a laser to the chest by the survivors, ending Kovac's legacy for good.

Powers/Abilities: Impervious to most damage.

Weakness: A weapon of great power.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-Geez, look at this guy's face! It looks horribly burned, and it is, and it's MISSING AN EYE IN THE RIGHT SOCKET FOR CORN'S SAKE! Needless to say, if Kovac wanted to give off the impression of rising from the dead, he succeeded.

Trivia: -Another title for this film is "The Haunting of Castle Montego".

-Kovac was played by William Leo Thourlby, who a few might recognize as one of many people who participated in the extravagant campaign of the Marlboro cigarette. Guess this new face of his was a good sign of what happens when you smoke too much, kids!

Real waste of a funeral arrangement, really. Humans aren't THAT feeble.
